After spending 16 hours at Marina doing logistics and all that bull, seeing the preparations and what goes on behind the whole national celebration, I finally see how this is all just a waste of time. Not just because I get shouted in the face by my direct superior and we don't get any credits for anything but mainly because it is so fucking expensive to organise this narcissistic celebration by the country.

Without going into the details (because there's too many) the money spent on countless rehearsals and the stage etc. could be put to better use, no? It could be used to fund countless campaigns to help the hungry and poor people of Africa and many other humanitarian activities. A cure for cancer would be nice too.

No I'm not writing this out of spite just because my view of the fireworks was (and will always be) totally hindered by the bridge.

1 year

I'm late with this post. 1 week late so I this is way overdue. It's been exactly a year since my enlistment and what better way to celebrate by witnessing my dear friends at SAFTI commissioning and officially passing out as officers. The parade was awesome and I've not even touched on the slow march although it was disappointing not to see much familiar faces marching past me by the steps.

It was also nice to see some of the old Raven guys. Congratulations to you guys passing out as officers. Being a trainee for a year can get quite a challenge if I have to say so myself. A bigger congratulations to those who have survived NS thus far. It won't be long before we'll be civilians once more.



Later that night we had quite a blast with Nigel and Dinesh puking their guts out while clubbing at Butter Factory. Ah smells like 1 year spirit doesn't it.

Was feeling nostalgic so I'm putting up pics of BMT. Good times.

Happy Soon-To-Be 1 Year in NS

Come June 9 I would be a 1 year soldier and I'm already dreading my time here. The past couple of weeks have been bad. My superior's been in a cranky mood and I've been one of the few guys who gets the shit for alot of things. Even for the smallest of things.

"Hatta why are the bed sheets not properly straight?"
"Hatta why is the rubbish bin not cleared?"
"You're the duty spec you should know all these things."
"Hatta why is the desk so messy?"
"Hatta where are the new camp passes for the new staff?"


FUCK WHY CAN'T YOU CLEAR THAT RUBBISH BIN YOURSELF. AT THE SAME TIME, SHAVE OFF THAT MOUSTACHE OF YOURS AND GO FOR ENGLISH LESSONS. YOU CAN'T EVEN SPELL SCOLD. I DOUBT YOU CAN EVEN SPELL "SHAVE OFF MY HITLER MOUSTACHE".

To cap off a bad day, the radio's also playing the super fucking ccb annoying Umbrella by Rihanna. Thank you Jay Z for producing such a monotonous song to be enjoyed by the masses.





On a much lighter note, this is also a Happy Birthday shout out to Francis Tay Ying Han who celebrated his birthday recently. May your NS life not suck my good friend.
