Mimolette

Friday night was spent with Heather and some friends at Mimolette and us guys had a discussion about girls which had me bursting out about this.

(Taken from www.bash.org)

A woman has a close male friend. This means that he is probably interested in her, which is why he hangs around so much. She sees him strictly as a friend.

This always starts out with, you're a great guy, but I don't like you in that way. This is roughly the equivalent for the guy of going to a job interview and the company saying, You have a great resume, you have all the qualifications we are looking for, but we're not going to hire you. We will, however, use your resume as the basis for comparison for all other applicants.

But, we're going to hire somebody who is far less qualified and is probably an alcoholic. And if he doesn't work out, we'll hire somebody else, but still not you. In fact, we will never hire you. But we will call you from time to time to complain about the person that we hired.

Thnks Fr Th Mmrs

A week back everyone was celebrating the life of Heath Ledger who played the Joker in The Dark Knight. Today I mourn the passing of a dear friend whom I would have never have thought to meet if not for NS. Md Azli bin Rasul was one of the funny guys in the guard room. Always having an abundance of jokes up his sleeve.

I never regretted being in Nee Soon as an RP which gave me the opportunity to meet people like Azli who are just one in a million. He never complained when we had to do our obligatory sai kang for our csm who never tires of the aforementioned activity.

We owe it alot to Azli and his bike. We transported around the camp on his bike when we had Northgate duties to carry out and even when we had to indent lunch from the cookhouse which, let's just say isn't a stone's throw away. Mani and Adam were just a few of those who benefited from Azli's generosity, borrowing his bike to practise before their big tests at SSDC. We were even there for Wan's crashing of Azli's bike in which he skidded and smashed parts of the bike. But Azli never even requested for compensation.

And did I already mention he was hilarious?

Unfortunately such good natured guys are hard to find these days and we lost another one to a bike accident this afternoon. It was even more tragic that he died a day before his birthday, being knocked down by a lorry and passing away on the spot. I will never forget the crying of his parents and even our friends. But let's not forget the joy that he has brought to all of us and all the other good times we've spent with Azli.

Our very own Joker.

Cross Roads

I knew that they day would come when I have to choose between work and studying. Sooner or later that would problem would crop up. But I'll leave that for Future Hatta to decide. Now I'm waiting in anticipation for Thursday. Why? Because of this.

This Is Life

Today I just had my two big toes bruised, my right ankle swollen and right knee badly grazed and bruised. And I loved every moment of it.

Football, my friend.

Fables: The Good Prince

Ah finally the 10th trade of this epic masterpiece is out! I can't emphasize enough how fucking good this series is and I'd gladly lend this to anyone (ok maybe not everyone but close friends of mine or whoever is interested) to prove my point. You've got lots of catching up to do as it's at 1oth volume but you'll be all too consumed by its rich story-telling to notice.

Here's some of my favourite artwork from cover artist, James Jean. Enjoy!

Fashion of The Christ

Was going through old episodes of Weeds and I caught this scene where Andy was tryna sell some defected clothes for the Christian community.

Silas: (reading the tee shirt) "Chris died for your sins". Is that a joke?
Andy: Yeah, on me. That's what happens when you outsource to fucking Malaysia. 8 year olds in a sweat shop can't spell for shit. See, I was trying to jump on board the whole "Red State Jesus" thing - the Fashion of the Christ and I end up with 3,000 of these. Cause if there's one thing I've learned with the Christ crowd - totally no sense of humor. Should have gone after the Jew market. At least we can take a joke.
