They can't be over fast enough

'Twas a pretty decent weekend which started off with Home Club on Friday with the old Trimedia gang for an UrbanWire event followed by my first ever Beat! at the very same venue with Rett, Shila and Shawn. Didn't totally dig the music but then again it was just me. Everyone had their favs from Blur to Arcade Fire to The Strokes (which I went crazy to) and some song about being in love on a Friday.

Saturday's BBQ at Alisa's went better than expected although I had to leave prematurely due to wanting to catch the match at home. I'd like to thank the hosts for being really good barbecuetionists. The company was awesome and the gambling was even better.

Today was spent lazing around the house in typical Hatta fashion. A night of re-reading Fables beckons for me before I knock off. Til the next weekend although it'll be over before we know it.

test.

I have a test tomorrow for my module in Mass Media in Asia also known as Masina back in the good ol' Mass Comm days. The test constitutes 50% of my module's grades and I've yet to start on it. I find it really hard to believe RMIT has made Masina 5 times more dull than it actually was back then in poly. The only source of entertainment in this module has been conversations between Rett, Wei Shan and myself, pondering if our two male lecturers are actually lovers out of school. It does seem probable but blackmail isn't a route I'd like to take to attain a GPA of at least 3.

I've also been constantly practising for my second driving test which will be on the day after the Masina test. My parking is now fucking ace, so is my lane changing and I've programmed myself to do all the blind spot checks so there's no reason for me to fail again unless of course I try to mask the awkward silence in the car by starting a conversation with the tester like the last time. If by any case I fail this time, well that would blow 'cos I know I'm way better this time.

Slogan for '08

This would make it to any quote of the day but I'm gonna make this my tagline/slogan/motto (or whatever you'd call it) for this new year:

I may not be strong, but I can read your body like braille.

My New Year's Resolutions are

1. To finally pick up the guitar
2. To have at least 7 hours of sleep everyday
3. To go on a holiday with the guys and get fucking stoned
4. To run more often

Happy New Year everyone.

P.S. Here's the coolest ever tee shirt design found on threadless. Enjoy.

Playing My Cards Right

My name is Hatta and I am an addict. No it's not porn. It's worse than porn and 10 times less cool. I'm addicted to Solitaire. Yes it's that song by Clay Aiken. Yes that game that can easily be found on all computers. It happened on the train last night. Bored with nothing to do on the way to Bugis I checked out my games on the iPod and the Klondike (innocently waiting) game popped up. So engrossed I was that I continued my game at home.

The hours between 4 and 6am were a blur of furious clicking and scrolling of my iPod, opening up new cards and hoping to find one that links to the other. Woke up at 11 this morning to continue with Solitaire (or Klondike) despite my stomach's protests.

What I need now is SLEEP. But not before 1 more game....
